Analyzing the Working Principle of moniter polarized film
Polarizer is a kind of optical functional material used to generate and detect polarized light in LCD. Xiao Bian has arranged a simple and understandable introduction to the polarizer of LCD, hoping to help you understand LCD.
1、 Basic structure of LCD polarizer
The polarizer is mainly composed of PVA film, TAC film, protective film, release film and pressure-sensitive adhesive. The basic structure of the polarizer in the LCD panel is shown in the following figure:
PVA film is the core film material that plays the role of polarization in the polarizer. The PVA membrane is dyed to adsorb iodine molecules with bidirectional absorption function. The iodine molecules are arranged orderly on the PVA membrane by stretching to form a polarizing film with uniform bidirectional absorption. Its transmission axis is perpendicular to the stretching direction.

2、 Working principle of LCD polarizer
Polarizer is called polarizer, which can control the polarization direction of a specific beam. When the natural light passes through the polarizer, the light whose vibration direction is perpendicular to the polarizer’s transmission axis will be absorbed, and only the polarized light whose vibration direction is parallel to the polarizer’s transmission axis remains.

In the liquid crystal display module, two polarizers are respectively stuck on both sides of the glass substrate. The lower polarizer is used to convert the light beam generated by the backlight into polarized light, and the upper polarizer is used to analyze the polarized light after being electrically modulated by the liquid crystal to generate light dark contrast, thus generating the display picture. The imaging of the LCD module must rely on polarized light. Without any polarizer, the LCD module cannot display images.

As the meta universe ecology gradually sprouts, VR/AR devices are rapidly scaled up, and new display demands appear, the polarizer industry will therefore usher in a new growth space.
1. Key raw materials in the upstream of display panel, and large market space for polarizers
Polarizer is a kind of macromolecular material made of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) film, cellulose triacetate (TAC) film, protective film, release film, pressure sensitive adhesive and other raw materials through stretching,
composite, coating and other processes. PVA film is one of the core raw materials, which plays a polarization role in the polarizer. In the dyeing process, the PVA film adsorbs two-way absorption molecules (usually iodine molecules), and then the iodine molecules are orderly arranged on the PVA film by stretching to form a polarizing film with uniform two-way absorption, which is finally dried and shaped.
Polarizer is an indispensable raw material for LCD panel. In the liquid crystal display module, two polarizers are respectively stuck on both sides of the glass substrate. The lower polarizer is used to convert the light beam (non polarized light) generated by the backlight into polarized light, and the upper polarizer is used to analyze the polarized light modulated by the liquid crystal layer to generate light dark contrast, so as to display the picture. The imaging of the LCD module must rely on polarized light. Without any polarizer, the LCD module cannot display images. Polarizer is also required for OLED, MiniLed and other display panel technology routes
